Baked donuts are a delicious snack for both parents and toddlers, and these ones use up any extra baby purees you have sitting around! Easily made in under an hour, you can modify the recipe with any puree you like. We used Banana and Blueberry-Blackberry for a fresh and fruity combo, but any flavor works well!

Ingredients - Donuts:

  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 1 tbsp greek yogurt
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 1 4oz pack Gerber Banana Puree
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 cup flour OR Grain & Grow
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp salt

Ingredients - Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar, sifted
  • ½ 4oz container Gerber Banana Blueberry Blackberry Puree
  • 1- 4 tsp water

Steps:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Coat a silicone donut pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the whole milk, greek yogurt, egg, melted butter, Gerber Banana Puree, vanilla extract, and maple syrup until well combined.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the dry ingredients, then fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients.
  4. Fill up the donut pans to the top and bake for 14-16 minutes, until golden brown. Allow to cool for a few minutes and then transfer to a wire cookie rack to cool completely.
  5. Make the glaze. Whisk together powdered sugar, 4oz Gerber Banana Blueberry Blackberry Puree, and one teaspoon water. If the mixture is too dry, add water one tsp at a time, but be cautious not to make it too thin.
  6. Add a baking sheet under the wire rack to catch drips. Dip the top of each donut into the glaze, and twist back and forth a few times to coat. Lift the donut straight up and let the excess drip off, then place the donuts glaze-side up on the wire rack. If you like a thicker glaze, repeat until all your glaze is used up. Allow to rest about 15 minutes to let the glaze set before serving.
  7. Cut into portions appropriate for your baby’s age and serve.
